I work for a big box electronics retailer… and I’ve gotten this far too often this holiday season.  As someone who didn’t own his own computer until he was 21, this seems absurd to me.  I don’t know if it’s a symptom of consumerism or just a manifestation of where I work, but… it seems absurd that children are getting $500 faux computers as presents this holiday season.  I can’t even AFFORD to buy a tablet for myself and it kills me that parents think of them as disposable toys, citing their children playing “games on their (the parents’) phones as a reason to get their kids an Ipad.  Ugh, I think I’m ranting, but… yeah.

can’t even fucking explain the bummed out feeling man. fuuuuuck.
9 year old sis got one.
(i mean, i did too, didn’t want it, exchanged for cash value yeee).

i got her a build-a-bear kit. she opened the ipad first, went crazy over it, opened mine—- literally looked at it for 10 seconds, said thank you, and went back to the couch to the ipad. she just set my thing back in its gift bag.

psh. oh well.
i begged my dad not to get her one. wtf. i played with rocks and worms and hallow plastic barbies! get her some marbles or something geezus.
